Birte Kaufmann, *1981, (Germany) lives and works as a freelance photographer in Cologne and Berlin. In 2012, she graduated from the Ostkreuzschule in Berlin. Her work has been widely shown internationally and was recently shortlisted for the Solas Prize in Dublin, Ireland and received an honourable mention in the EI award, Encontros Da Imagem, Braga, Portugal.

Her focus is on reportage, documentary and portrait photography. Her latest project is on the ‘The Travellers’ in Ireland and gives us an insight into everyday life of Ireland’s minority group. Birte Kaufmann. Born in 1981 in Germany, Birte Kaufmann lives and works as a freelance photographer in Cologne. She studied photography at Ostkreuzschule in Berlin after receiving a degree in social work from Cologne University of Applied Sciences. Kaufmann has exhibited her photography throughout Germany, including at the Museum fuer verwandte Kunst in Cologne. Birte Kaufmann is born 1981 in Germany.
